Never Too Late

Kezia has just relocated to New York City and is in a gorgeous penthouse apartment. Her next door neighbor is a famous actor. Hedges on their balcony separate their outdoor space. It's the 4th of July and their are on their respective balconies watching the fireworks. A bright orange explosion occurs near the Empire State Building and other locations that is obviously not part of the planned fireworks. Being a retired nurse practitioner, Kezia volunteers to help at a site of explosion. Her neighbor, Sam, tags along.
What do these 2 characters have in common? Will Kezia's 2 daughters like Sam and their mother involved in a relationship?
At the beginning of the book, I wasn't sure I wanted to read about another terrorist attack in NYC. But, this book is about resilience and relationships, what one has to do to get through and grow from events such as these.

Upside Down

Ardith is a big movie star and has been for decades. She is in a relationship with another legend, Bill West. Bill is older than her and suddenly passes away while on location. In Bill's contract, he provided Ardith with a personal assistant while he was on location. The personal assistant is a young, male, out of work actor. Despite her skepticism, he becomes invaluable to Ardith.
Morgan is Ardith's daughter. She is a plastic surgeon in New York and becomes involved with a patient who is a well known TV news anchor. He is older than Morgan and becomes involved in a "Me Too" scandal.
Will Ardith's relationship with younger Josh survive? Will Morgan's relationship with older Ben survive?
This is a story not only of love, but of reconciliation.

The Ball at Versailles

In England, Queen Elizabeth has stopped their annual debutant ball because it is a tradition that no longer has significant meaning.  So, in the summer of 1959, France holds the first debutant ball at Versailles.  Invitations are sent out to certain debutants in America.  Amelia, Felicity, Caroline and Samantha receive invitations.  They do not know each other, but at the ball they bond and become friends.  Each has their own struggles related to growing up and works through them over the year.  This debutant ball is supposed to bring fortune in finding a husband.  Will it be the escort they are assigned?

This is a delightful tale of society and the costs of being in that elite group.  It's also a story of finding the path to maturity.

Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
