The Secret of Clouds

This book is a tribute to all teachers. It is beautifully written by Alyson Richman, one of my favorite authors. Katya and Sasha immigrate to the USA from the Ukraine. He is a scientist at a university. He begins to discover a possible link to their son born with a health defect. Maggie is a new teacher. She began her career in PR, made lots of money, but it didn’t feed her soul. She is assigned to tutor Katya and Sacha’s son. She makes a huge difference in his life. This book is a wonderful example of loving kindness, of which more is needed in this world. Every teacher should read this book. I’m so glad I read this book. I just loved it.

The Last Romantics

The Skinner family- life was hard. Mother and four children. The father died at age 32 and life changed dramatically. The author gives a glimpse into how the depression of a single mother affects an entire family. The oldest daughter holds the family together. She excels academically and becomes a physician. The two other girls struggle with their identity throughout their life. The son is the tragic one. One day he has it all, and one day he doesn’t. His death changes everything. Theme- be true to your authentic self.

Daisy Jones & The Six

Daisy Jones had it all. Life was easy for her, until it wasn’t. Her producer pairs her with the boy band, The Six. The lead of the band, Billy, is so in love with his girlfriend who becomes his wife and the mother of his children. Billy has his own problems with his struggle to become and stay sober. Daisy has no desire to sober up or get clean. The sexual attraction between Billy and Daisy is palpable. Theme: forbidden love and choosing to do what is right.
